Architects Gray Pucksand engaged Australian Art Resources as Art Consultants for the site. The brief was to establish a landmark CBD foyer.

Australian Art Resources submitted several options for the space from a selection of artists.

Greg Johns was selected and 'Union', a work that he had created as a model back in 1983, was then commissioned by Fortius Funds Management on behalf of the owner, HSBC. The project was then co-ordinated in full by Australian Art Resources in order to ensure a timely delivery of this large scale sculpture.

'Union' is a single piece made from Corten Steel with the final size being H2.7m x W3.5m x D2.6. The work was completed in the artist's studio in South Australia and then transported by road to 330 Collins Street, Melbourne.
